This is the first in a series of caches I'll be placing in St. Marys in memory of my heart dog, Bandit. He was my best friend, a loving and joyful companion who loved to explore, was up for any adventure and taught me to live in the moment.
I chose this location for the first St. Marys hide (there are others in Stratford) as it's very close to where he lived the majority of his life. We spend a LOT of time on this trail over the years as it's so peaceful and beautiful year round. Often we were the only ones out so I could let him off leash to really explore :) Bandit was also a natural athlete, excelling in any sport he tried and he often "trained" for his favourite sport, racing, on this part of the trail in advance of competitions (which he consistently won for 9 years straight!).
I discovered geocaching after he died last year as a way to stay to connected to nature. I'm quite enjoying it and am pleased to place these caches so I can relive and share some of the wonderful memories. I know he is still with me in spirit and that he welcomes you to discover his caches and enjoy the areas he did.
This cache should be an easy find, a small container containing a log sheet, toy compass ring and a couple of stones & marbles. Oh, and a dime from him (please leave as is). BYOP. UPDATE - cache is now a pill bottle with only a log sheet.
