Sometimes it is the journey and other times the destination. A favourite memory of mine is bushwalking with my family to this spot, which was both. On this specific occasion the kids bounced along the track from South Turramurra, past Brown's Waterhole and along the easy path that follows Terry's Creek, with the kids chatting and throwing virtual red objects at virtual creatures (this helps date the walk). Eventually we got to the bridge with the M2 thundering overhead (the area will interest pontists) where the kids spent ages climbing up the slope and sliding down, until we were able to extricate them for the journey home.
This area can be accessed from multiple points in the surrounding suburbs, but please do not attempt to get to it from the motorway. The bush trails are reasonably well signposted, with information signs throughout. The GPS signal is a bit iffy at GZ, due to the M2, so please be patient while your device tries to find satellites. Please bring your own writing implement.
