Jeff Clement

Twelve-year-old Jeff led his Marshalltown team to the Little League World Series in 1996.  As a Marshalltown High School Bobcat, Clement broke the national high school home run record, and finished his high school career with a total of 75 home runs. Clement and the Bobcats won the Iowa 4-A State Championship in 2002.  Jeff received national attention when he was featured in the September 16, 2002, issue of Sports Illustrated in the "For the Love of the Game" article.

Clement then played collegiate ball for the University of Southern California.  During his freshman year, Jeff was named Collegiate Baseball Freshman National Co-Player of the Year, Pac-10 Conference Freshman of the Year, earned Baseball America Freshman All-America first team, and Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American first team honors.

In 2005, Clement was presented the Johnny Bench Award as the nation's top collegiate catcher.  In addition, he was selected for the Baseball America All-America First Team, was named on the USA Today Sports Weekly All-America first team, and earned Collegiate Baseball All-America first team honors.

Clement played professional baseball for both the Seattle Mariners and the Pittsburg Pirates, first playing catcher, then moving to designated hitter and first base.  Jeff's batting average in pro ball was .218.  He earned 13 homeruns and 39 RBIs in the majors, but was plagued with knee injuries.  Jeff retired from pro baseball in 2014.
