A simple traditional cache located at Chinquipin Park and near the entrance of Forest Park. Since this is a dawn-to-dusk-only cache, please do not attempt this cache at night.
As a T.C. Williams High School alumus, I've placed this cache to remember the good times I had at the nearby high school, particularly being part of the T.C. Williams Marching Band and the many trips I have gone with them. To give a brief history of the high school, it opened in 1965 as an integrated school. T.C Williams High is best known for being featured in the 2000 film "Remember the Titans," starring Denzel Washington as Coach Boone. The film was based on the 1971 Virginia State Football Championship in which the Titans won their first championship game against Andrew Lewis High School 27-0. In 2007, the current building of T.C Williams was rebuilt to make room for all the staff and students grades 10 through 12. Ninth graders go to the Minnie Howard Campus of T.C. Williams, located down the road from Fort Ward Park.
A note about parking, Chinquipin Park now requires a parking permit to park around the loop only during the weekdays in the school year, so refer to the parking coords. It is free on the weekends and during the summer time.
