Geocache Description:

F.R. Haythorne - CARW2018

With this years CARW having a ‘Back to Geo-School’ theme, we thought we would school everyone with some actual schools!  These caches will give you some history on some of the schools in the Strathcona County / Sherwood Park area.  We hope you enjoy being schooled!

The Original Salisbury High School opened at the intersection of Highway 14 and the now Anthony Henday in 1953.  What does this have to do with F.R. Haythorne School?  When the Current Salisbury High School  was built in 1969, the old highway school was reopened as F.R. Haythorne as a junior high school.  Then in 1993, F.R. Haythorne from the highway to a close proximity of Bev Facey High School.

ScooterRichard attended F.R. Haythorne for his Junior High Schooling years, and was able to grab a few bricks when the majority of the school was demolished in 2015.
