Just a little park and grab located in historic downtown Rio. This is a perfect spot for lunch, right beside Alkires General Store, where you can get a sandwich and a soda and sit at a shady picnic table to eat. The building was originally built around 1900 as a scale weighing house for the Rio Tannery and North River Road was at one time a toll road from Hanging Rocks to Rio. The charge was 2 cents per horse and toll gates were stationed every 10 miles. (The tolls were discontinued in the late 1800's) Bring your own pen. There is no climbing or digging required. Have fun!
