Welcome to Sunny Mount Park - Off Leash Area
On our way up to the GHMGC WInter Fun Event on Family Day Event today, we stopped at this park to check things out, and get in some off leash time. Although this was our first visit to this park, the humans and dogs were very kind and inviting.
Code of Conduct for Off Leash Area
1) The off-leash dog area is for dogs, their handlers and those accompanying them. No other use is permitted.
2) Owners are required to have their dogs licensed and all dogs must have up to date vaccinations. Prior to the first visit to the park new puppies should have received all vaccinations which generally are completed by the 4th month.
3) Refrain from bringing females dogs to the park during periods they are in heat.
4) All dogs must be on leash when outside the fenced area.
5) Dogs must be under control, within plain view of their handler and not left unattended.
6) For the prevention of injuries and maintaining the safety of all dogs when playing, it is strongly recommended that pronged and choke type collars are removed within the park. Flat buckle collars are preferred for use inside the park.
7) Please note that adults are accountable for the behaviour and care of any children accompanying them while visiting the dog park. For the safety of all please remember this is a dog park and the intent of this of this park unlike other city parks is to provide a safe place for the dogs to exercise off leash, not children.
8) Due to the unique nature of this park and given the fact that some dogs may be frightened or react unpredictably to the activities of children, it is strongly recommended that unless children are accompanied by a responsible adult, they refrain from using the park. This will help to ensure that all parties, the handlers, dogs and children have a pleasurable experience.
9) All handlers must “Scoop the Poop”
10) Please fill any holes that have been dug, promptly.
11) No food or drink in glass containers – training treats are allowed.
12) Dogs must be removed from the off-leash area at the first sign of aggression.
13) Users of the facility do so at their own risk. Neither The Town of Milton nor Leash Free Milton shall be liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog in the off–leash area
14) Please help to enforce the Rules to help keep our park clean safe and fun!
The Cache:
You are looking for a Bison Tube [wrapped in black hockey tape], hanging near the corner of the fence - ground level. You do not need to enter the park to find this cache, it can retrieved from the outside. However, if you have your own geo-pooch with you, you will likely get to visit the inside as well.
