Cache Info: This is a medium sized camouflaged plastic container with a screw on lid.

In 2002, there were several hundred graffiti messages on the rock outcrops at Arabia Mountain. The top of the rock, next to this geocache, was covered with graffiti. The surface of the rock outcrop a short distance below this cache was so completely covered with graffiti that people started referring to the mountain as “Graffiti Mountain”. The top of the mountain had dozens of graffiti messages as well. Fortunately, they were not as profuse as they were on the area a short distance below this cache.

In 2002, all of the graffiti messages at Arabia Mountain were camouflaged with paint that mimicked the color tones of the rock. This was a monumental task. Camouflaging the overwhelming number of graffiti messages on the rock surface below this cache was especially difficult. Some large sections of rock had to be completely painted over. Then, Americorps volunteers brought in small rocks that were placed on the painted areas to help blend them in with their surroundings.

Since 2002, only a few new messages of graffiti have been placed. They have quickly been camouflaged to discourage further graffiti placements.

Park at the Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve’s South Parking Lot on Klondike Road. Take the Mountain Top Trail, marked by rock cairns, toward the summit of Arabia Mountain. Then follow your GPSr to the cache.
