There have been people coming to Saturna since time immemorial. Before European settlers arrived on the coast, many First Nation groups would come to the island. One of these people’s main sources of food so close to the ocean was clams. Though the people may not come here as they used to, an archaeological history book has been left open at the island’s feet. A shell midden.
A midden is a place where discarded shells were put and piled up over the years. In the midden here, you can see the wall of shells that was built up over hundreds of years of people visiting the island. The cache here is not hidden in or around the midden. Please respect this site and do not touch or remove anything from it.
The cache may be hard to get at high tide. It contains a log book, pencil, and a few pieces of small SWAG.
Good luck hunting!
