The Norwattuck Rail Trail has had a interesting history. Many different railroads are named to make the whole central "railroad" system. The line that is now the rail trail, was part of the Boston and Maine Railroad system, called the Wheelwright line. Yes, there were passenger trains going here at one time. Plenty of steam locomotives as well. The wheelwright line ran for many years, serving a papermill in Wheelwright and businesses in Bondsville. When the papermill closed and the remaining Bondsville customer thought to get the same service from the MA Central, operations East of Amherst were cut. With trains now running once a week in later years for a couple businesses, such as the Hadley Coal and Grain and Amherst Farmers Supply, the B&M RR decided to cease operations on the Wheelwright line. This is only a brief description of this railroad system. There is plenty of information out there to learn about the whole railroad system to run "central". To get to this cache you will need to only know the year that the Boston and Maine Railroad took the Wheelright branch line out of service. Take that number and subtact from 2478, to get: ABC
N 42 20.ABC
I will give you the West Coords
W 72 35.731
The cache location might have a high muggle rating. Thus a little higher difficulty. Maybe you will have a hard time figuring out the year? Not to worry about the people in the window at the final location that may be working. They know and have given permission for this cache placement. Go in if you may need help, they would love to see you.
