The first in a series (in no particular order) inspired by hms76's "Calaveras Backroads: Fullen Rd" which eluded me for a very very long time.
As it so happens, this cache's location was once "My Stone Home", one of his now-archived caches along this scenic backroad. Good to revisit this turnout.
!!!!! PLEASE NOTE !!!!! As of May 2018 there is a random abandoned car at GZ THE CACHE IS NOT ON, AROUND, UNDER, RELATED TO, OR INFLUENCED/AFFECTED BY ITS PRESENCE DONT EVEN TOUCH IT It's a figment of your imagination. Aaanyway
ABOUT THE CACHE

ABOUT SHEEP RANCH RD
- Southern terminus is with Main St in Murphys at the Murphys Historic Hotel. From here it is a 13 minute drive to GZ.
- Northern terminus is with Mountain Ranch Rd and Railroad Flat Rd, just east of Mountain Ranch. From here it is a 23 minute drive to GZ.
- If you're coming from San Andreas and are undecided about which route to take, it is only three minutes longer to go through Mountain Ranch than to take Hwy 49 to Angels Camp and then to Murphys, and is much more interesting. The former is a 39 minute drive while the latter is a 36 minute drive.
- If you're coming from Avery, take Avery Sheep Ranch Rd, continue straight onto Fullen Rd., and make a left onto Sheep Ranch Rd.
THE ROAD ITSELF:
Paved the entire way, albeit fairly patchy and therefore bumpy for most of it. Very windy in places, especially between Sheep Ranch (the town) and Murphys. Frequent narrow sections with blind curves and sharp drop offs with no shoulder. Drive slow, and you'll be fine. Traffic is usually very very light out here. Any vehicle will make it, but if you're in something like an RV, Some of the tight turns might make your hair stand up.
Good luck and drive safe!
