Geocache Description:

The Fountain of Peace is a sculpture by Sandy Scott.  It was created in 1985 and was cast in an edition of 12.  The sculpture was introduced in Albuquerque in 1989 through the 1% for the arts program.  There are other Fountain of Peace installations at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet (SC), United States Military Acadamy at West Point (NY), Southwest Craft Center Museum in San Antonio (TX), and the rest are in private collections.

We discovered this scuplture by accident on a walk that got detoured from the 2017 Albuquerque Rapid Transit construction project.  We have lived in Old Town for many years and had never seen this sculpture before.  What a treat.

The cache is NOT on the sculpture or in the bushes.  Please respect the artwork and be wary of muggles.

There is a paid parking lot right by the cache or you can park in Old Town and enjoy the walk.

Congratulations to fam2go on the FTF (1 hour after being published)!!!
