Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Back Creek cemetery.  This is a very old cemetery located about 1 1/2 miles north of Fairmount, IN.  Parking is available at the nearby church but you should not search for the cache on Sunday mornings.

As you make your way towards GZ notice the well maintained farm to the north.  This is where James Dean lived with his aunt and uncle from the time he was about 10 years old until after he graduated from Fairmount High School in 1949. It is said that his interest in acting started in high school plays.  The school has been torn down but a replica of the stage has been created recently in a shelter house located in Playacres Park on the south side of Fairmount near where the school once stood.

Dean died in a car accident in California on September 30, 1955 and is buried in Park cemetery about 3/4 miles south of here.  GC1OMBZ, "Rebel Without A Cache" is located close to his grave.  Enjoy the search and as always, no night caching and respect the grounds.
