Geocache Description:

A quick Park-n-Grab at the Tiffin River Service Plaza.

The now-archived cache that used to be here was my first Ohio find back in late 2015.  I was sad to see it go, and wanted to give other cachers the opportunity to find a cache while crossing the state.  The service plaza is named for the nearby river, which is in turn named for Dr. Edward Tiffin, the first governor of the state of Ohio.  To build the rest area and turnpike, the river needed to be a few hundred feet east to prevent flooding of both the turnpike and rest area.

The turnpike spans the length of the north end of the state, passing near major cities, such as Toledo and Cleveland.  The turnpike has several rest areas, the westernmost of which are this eastbound rest area and the Indian Meadow Service Plaza for the westbound traffic.  Caches can be found at most of these rest areas.  Take a break, stretch your legs, and find a cache!

This cache is accessible from the rest area only, please do not try to reach this cache from the access road to the south of the rest area.
