Sedgefield is part of the Cittaslow movement, first formed in Italy. As part of the movement a Pledge is made by the town to ensure that the Citta requirements are followed.
The Sedge Pledge series of caches have been created around the Pledge and to encourage residents and visitors to read and understand the Pledge and adhere as much as possible.
Sedge Pledge 4 relates so much of what the pledge stands for. This project known as the Octopus Garden was built for the community by the community. There are 3 markets situated here on a Saturday, the most famous being the Wild Oats Farmers Market. Please be aware of muggles on Weekends!
