The “Bill of Rights” is part of the United States Constitution. The Constitution is considered a “living” document, meaning that the rules can be altered or eliminated, and new ones can be added. The constitution outlines how to make those changes. The Bill of Rights mostly describes the rights afforded to us as citizens.
The First Amendment gives us the freedom to say and write what we would like, protest, and choose our own religion or none.
Article I (Amendment 1 - Freedom of expression and religion)
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
