This is a dedication to someone in my life that means an awful lot to me. I've been talking about doing a multi here for a while and my geobrain has been plotting the minor details to make this a fun multi. This 4-stage multi combines a physical container at the finish while having to solve the stages leading up to it. Please take some time to enjoy the history behind each stage this multi takes you to. Parking is on the streets (obey street sign time limits) with additional parking on the corner of broadway and east holly as well as next to the library. I didn't feel the need to post parking coordinates due to how many places available to park. Once you park for stage one, you should be able to walk to the rest of the stages (about 1-2 miles round trip and maybe more if you decide to take scenic routes and depending on where you park). While all of these stages are available 24/7, I would use caution at night to not look suspicious in certain areas. Be safe, and have fun! I welcome and encourage any and all feedback to make this better or fix things that come up along the way. Happy caching!
Once you reach stage one, take down the necessary information to get the coords for stage two: N39 43.ABC W75 07.DEF
A) the number of letters in the last person's last name (alphabetically)
B) the number of letters in the first person's last name
C) the number of people with the last name Chew multiplied by 2
D) number of letters in the first name of the Red Cross nurse
E) the year at the bottom minus 1919
F) the last number in the year at the bottom.
Check sum: A+B+C+D+E+F=40
Stage two will bring you to another plaque. Take the necessary information from here to get the coordinates for stage three: N39 43.ABC W75 07.DEF
A) the second number of the first year on the plaque
B) the last number in the year that the first houses were erected by the camp meeting
C) number of crosses on the plaque
D) number of avenues the grove has minus 3
E) last number of the first year on the plaque
F) number of times the word grove is on the plaque plus 3
Check sum: A+B+C+D+E+F=30
Stage three brings you to a very historical building. It is NOT on private property so please do not disturb that area or the gate surrounding it. If you have some extra time, feel free to look up the hours of this place, as it might make the multi that much more fulfilling. This brings you to a wood post that should be easy to distinguish what you will need to extract from it for final stage coord: N39 43.ABC W75 07.DEF
A) number of letters in the colored background the numbers/letters are on (HINT: RED=3)
B) the last number plus 3
C) the 4th number subtracted by the 5th number
D) take the sum of the last two numbers and subtract 1
E) take the sum of the first two numbers and add 1
F) the same as E
Check sum: 31
This will bring you to a gazebo across the way from a mini auditorium. While I had originally thought to place the final there, I wanted to be respectful and careful of not trespassing on its stage or nearby surroundings. This is a well-camo'd container in/near the gazebo. I don't want to give away much more as it tends to be more rewarding to make the find on your own. As always, be respectful and have fun! BYOP and hide exactly as found. Please do not post spoiler logs or pics of the final, but pics of the journey along the way are welcomed and encouraged! Happy caching!
