BUMPnUGLY
The Denali Highway (Alaska Route 8) is a lightly traveled, mostly gravel 135 mile long highway from Paxson on the Richardson Highway to Cantwell on the Parks Highway. The average speed limit is 30 miles per hour and there are few gas, food and lodging possibilities along the highway. There are a couple of organized campgrounds and various pullouts big enough to camp in along the route. It is subject to seasonal closure depending upon snow levels. Typically, it is open from mid-May until October.
