The Find Your Chesapeake (FYC) GeoTour launched June 9, 2018 with over 60 caches within Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania. and Delaware. A trackable geocoin will be awarded to the first 400 geocachers, while supplies last, for locating at least 20 FYC caches. To be eligible for the coin, geocachers must download a passport from the Find Your Chesapeake GeoTour website. Geocachers must find and log at least 20 finds, record the code word from each cache on their passport. After discovering the 20 required caches, geocachers may have their passports validated via mail at the National Park Service, Chesapeake Bay Office located at 410 Severn Ave, Suite 314, Annapolis, MD 21403. Please refer to the passport for complete validation instructions.
Participating in the FYC GeoTour is fun and we hope that many people join in. However, it is not a requirement for logging your find on this cache once you find the container.
Nearly 10,000 years ago, American Indians thrived in this area. About a mile from here is where Maryland's oldest archaeological artifacts were found! Artifacts such as pottery, fire pits, buttons, fishhooks, animal bones, and stone tools found here tell the narrative of the rich past of Jug Bay. ‘Pig Point’, the largest and most significant site among over 20 small sites, was established around 7300BCE. Since then, it has been continually occupied by people. Today, the Piscataway Conoy Tribe still values this area as a connection to their ancestors.
The Geocache
This geocache is a nine stage mutli-cache where the first eight stages you will gather information which will be used to help you figure out the final location.

- F = Number of benches at the end of the Scrub-Shrub boardwalk.

- E = Number of letter S's on the green sign above the canoes.

Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary is open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 9am to 5pm from March to November. There is a $6 per vehicle entrance fee. Please go to the Visitor Center to pay the entrance fee. Please respect their fee policy. Pets are not allowed on the premises. This geocache will take at least one hour to complete.
