Geocache Description:

The cache is not at these coordinates.
But this is where you should start your journey.

This is the next of Run/Hike/Bike with Me caches that I have started since moving to MN. Since most of my cache finds are done while exercising, I thought I would offer this delight to others. These caches will not necessarily be hard to find, but you will have to put some miles on the legs for them. So lace em up, grab some water, and come join the fun

This bike ride will be a 7ish-mile (total) bike ride down the Minnesota River Greenway. It is a nicely paved trail for any kind of bike, rollerblades, scooter, etc. The Minnesota River Greenway is an east-west corridor along the south side of the Minnesota River in Burnsville. The trail is in place between I-35W and Cedar Avenue. Trail users can park at the Minnesota Riverfront Park Trailhead and enjoy views of the Minnesota River and Black Dog Lake (part of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge). The trail takes users by the Xcel Energy Black Dog Power Plant. Please keep in mind, that this area floods easily, so if there has been flooding along the MN River, it has probably hit here.

The final cache is in a winter friendly location just up the road from where you parked.

As for the waypoints, here we go…

Dakota Sign - the bench here comes and goes throughout the yeat, but there is a "Dakota" Sign. They were established in 1__86? Consider this A.

Viewing Area - there is a nice viewing platform with how many "viewing binoculars" here? Consider this B.

Numbers – This is a cool place to stop and look for a bit. There is a red, two-digit number painted on the building across the street. The number is between 10 and 20. Consider this C and D.

Brown Sign – This is the turn around point of your journey. Plenty of other exploring available here. On the big brown sign, how many words are on the 4th line? Consider this E.

Then consider:

N44 47.ADC W093 17.ECB

Hope you had a great ride!

Earn the 75, 150 and 300 mile Pathtag!

So far there have been 52 of these Hike/Bike/Run With Me Multi-caches - if you were to complete them all, you would have travelled more than 317 miles. Currently (March 2026), there are 44 active geocaches totaling 277+ miles (This includes seven Hike With Me Adventure Labs). By the end of the summer of 2026, I will make sure there are 300+ miles of active caches. I wanted to give something to the geocachers who have "put a big dent" in trying to find these. So I created three pathtags for cachers who completed at least 75, 150 and/or 300 miles while trying to get smileys on these caches. On each of the cache pages, I mention how long the travel should be for that cache. They vary from just a couple miles to a 25+ mile bike ride.

Here is a bookmark list of all of the caches.

So, take a look at your finds, add up the miles, and if you are more than 75, 150 and/or 300 miles, let me know. You can either PM me, email me, or just grab me at an event. You do not have to show/prove anything to me about you qualifying. I will give you one if you say you have qualified.
