Sanborn Street Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

scarletsapphire: It's time to say goodbye to this geocache. When "Sanborn Street" was originally placed, it was a highly-favorited cache. However, the original host was removed as part of the nearby construction project. I was able to re-locate the cache and keep the same type of hide, but that cache was found by only one group of geocachers before it disappeared. I suspect it was removed by local muggles who became aware of it. I concluded that the new location wasn't going to be a safe spot for the cache, so I was forced to devise a different type of hide that was never up to the cleverness or difficulty of the original cache. Now that the snow season has begun, it's clear that the cache will be inaccessible as long as we have plowable snow on the ground. So, farewell "Sanborn Street." I'm sorry to see you go, but you haven't been yourself for awhile now. Thanks to all the geocachers who logged a find, and thanks for the many favorite points.

Geocache Description:

A micro-cache, well-hidden in downtown Reading, near the old (now closed) post office building. Muggle traffic can be heavy at times, so be on the lookout and be prepared with your best stealth skills.

On-street parking is available. Log only, so BYOP. Placed with permission.

Update (April 2019): The original cache had to be moved because of construction. The replacement cache then went missing in its new location (likely muggled). So I have replaced this cache with a different type of hide in a nearby location. I am keeping the original difficulty and terrain ratings so that previous finders' statistics won't be affected. However, it may be a bit less tricky than the original hide, and although it is still technically wheelchair-accessible, it would probably be more difficult from a wheelchair than the original hide.
