"LARK ELLEN" Traditional Cache

Ellen Beach Yaw was a world famous opera singer that came to settle here in Covina. She became known for her extraordinary vocal range and could produce unusually high notes. Known as "Lark Ellen" she was reportedly the only known soprano of her era who could sing and sustain the D above high D. Later in her professional career she came to stay here in the Covina area and established the "Lark Ellen League" to give concerts in hospitals, homes, and jails and the "Lark Ellen School for Boys"that gave homes to abandoned boys. Ms. Yaw is memorialized in Covina by Lark Ellen Elementary School across the street (now a Welcome/Senior Center) and Lark Ellen Avenue, one of the main thoroughfares connecting Covina to neighboring West Covina. Ms. Yaw was born September 14, 1869 and died September 9, 1947 ..........................Finding this geocache shouldn't be hard but stealth in retrieving it will be a challenge. This is why I gave it higher numbers for terrain and difficulty...Please return it as placed in the most inconspicuous way possible! A TOTT IS RECOMMENDED
