A relatively easy 1.4km walk up the jeep track from the road and you will find the perfect front row seat to admire the river, the valley and the mountains.
The cache is placed about 30m to the left of the track next to the river.
NOTE: the river is only visible when there has been a lot of rain.
This cache is placed along the Klipspringer Hiking Trail in the Steenbras Nature Reserve.
NO HIKING PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TRAIL. (Unlike Steenbras Gorge and Crystal Pools)
This trail should only be attempted from 07:30 to 16:00.
The Steenbras Nature Reserve forms part of the greater Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. The area is often referred to as ‘the heart of the fynbos.’
The reserve conserves a number of vegetation types including the critically endangered Kogelberg sandstone fynbos. The unique landscapes with its exceptional floral diversity is home to many interesting birds and animals, making the area well known for its scenic beauty.
