This Camoed Bison type cache is a tribute to the WWII era B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine-O-Nine" which is currently owned and flown by The Collings Foundation of MA. Take a walk along the Chestnuthill Trail and then onto the Collier Trail. When you find the cache, you will be standing in what once was a Charcoal Hearth. Charcoal Hearths were built and used to fuel the early Iron industry of the area. Samuel Nutt built the Coventry Iron Works in 1717 just South of Chestnuthill which is now South Coventry Township.
North Coventry Township Parks and Recreation Commission maintains this property and has given permission to place this cache. Please abide by all Park rules and regulations. Please stay on marked trails and no Bushwhacking. No Night Caching as the park hours are from 7:00am until Dusk daily. If you are caching during hunting seasons, it would be in your best interest to wear a Blaze Orange saftey vest while walking the trails.
