This cache is dedicated to "The Wench", she is the better half of FLPirate. Together they make a great team and she is always up for a challenge. They have been all across the country and have made many friends wherever they go. They only need to find a cache in Alaska to have cached in all 50 states. Hopefully this will be the year. Not bad for a "septuagenarian."
This is one of a series of caches hidden in the Picayune Strand State Forest. Depending on what time of the that you visit this area, you could be walking in water anywhere from ankle to knee deep. To do this series you need to be prepared to wade, walk, and climb for several miles.
The area that you will be going through is a cypress forest. Cypress trees do not grow in elevated areas, they like low lying areas with lots of rain. You may see bears, Florida panthers, water moccasins, and eastern diamond rattlesnakes.
