My better half Ashley and I have worked countless months in preparation of hiding this cache. Gathering all of the needed items, constructing the cache itself to make it as muggle resistant as possible, and most importantly, bringing many travel bugs 1200 miles from southern California up to just a few miles away from Geocaching HQ.
This cache is designed to help those in the game learn how to properly play the travel bug game.
Many times we have gone searching for travel bugs only to find that upon arriving at a geocache, there turns out to be no bugs at all. Not the end of the world, but definitely a small dissapointment when setting out to find these little critters. So, to ensure the fun of the game for all of those involved, here are some tips and etiquette for those wishing to Geocache and play with travel bugs.
- If you are newer, or just don’t have a travel bug on you, take one, read the mission of it, and pick the perfect one to take with you, this will get you started on the travel bug fun :)
- When retrieving a travel bug, be sure to log that you took it the first moment you get the chance, this ensures that the inventory remains accurate. This also lets the owner know where it is and allows them to follow its journey.
- When placing a travel bug, also be sure to log it as place, for the same reasons mentioned above.
Have some fun with this one, there is a TON of swag left and an abundance of travel bugs. Enjoy the game, enjoy the adventure, and above all, be sure to take care of the nature around you. Lock code is 2-8-2, be sure to lock it up afterwards and happy caching :)
