Forty Creek is a beautiful, natural area in the heart of the town of Grimsby. This area connects to the Bruce Trail via the blue Forty Creek Side Trail.
The creek offers beautiful views, but unfortunately as it is such a low lying area, it acts as a funnel for all garbage blowing around the area.
We will be hosting our CITO in conjunction with The Escarpment Project. Garbage bags and gloves will be supplied. Dress for the weather, including appropriate footwear. It is not a dangerous area, but children should be supervised.
The Escarpment Project will be hosting a free BBQ after the event in the Devil's Punchbowl area. See us at the CITO for wrist bands.
High school students can earn volunteer hours, as long as they bring along the appropriate form to sign.
You will likely find that a lot of the waste collected comes from recyclable water bottles. As not to contribute to this further, we ask that you bring your own refillable water bottle, and we will provide water on site.
There is plenty of free public parking nearby.
Hope to see you there!
