I Like Traffic Lights 🚦 Story about the Sun Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

spiderwebbs4: After 4 years with 87 finds, 2 favourite points, 20 DNFs & 4 cache containers, I'm letting this one go. The artwork is still great but the location near this busy road & businesses is obviously too muggly to maintain a safe hide.
Thanks for all the interest over this time. Please still pass by and admire the Story about the Sun & Moon on the back of the signal box.

Geocache Description:

#19 Sunshine Coast traffic signal box art trail

The unassertive traffic signal box is often overlooked as it sits at intersections and roadsides in metropolitan areas. Urban Smart Projects, a community art initiative, has made it their mission to bring colour and art to cities and help fight graffiti. (www.urbansmartprojects.com)

Follow this trail around the Sunshine Coast and admire the original designs reflecting the vibrancy, character and stories of the community. I have included a statement from each artist about their artwork. The geocaches on this trail should be fairly quick to find to prevent cachers being too conspicuous searching in these high muggle traffic zones.

You may also like to sing Monty Python’s song, “I like Traffic Lights” on your way to keep you in the mood. (www.montypython.net)

I like traffic lights, I like traffic lights.

A Story about the Sun – painted by Sophy Blake – May, 2017. The image I have designed predominately features the sun on the front of the signal box but also tells a love story between the sun and the moon. The swirling water beneath ties together the sun and moon and reflects the importance of our beautiful ocean and waterways in our region. The birds pay homage to the wonderful wildlife that call the Sunshine Coast home. This story of the sun also helps, through this image to celebrate the history and the naming of the Sunshine Coast.

The cache is at the listed co-ordinates a short stroll from the signal box.

You are seeking a small cache in the garden. Parking is available close to gz at nearby businesses but may be busy during business hours. Nights or weekends would allow for more leisurely cache hunting here. No room for swaps or pen.

Congratulations to stortigirls, Selva girls & CuriousQuest for FTF!!!
