In the area that you are in, you will see, as you look South about a quarter mile, on the left, at that area that looks like it should have a building? This is one of Greenfield's first movie theaters, The Victoria Theatre. Opening on the early 1900's, this was a hot spot for people. Over 800 seats and open seven days a week. It ran under the Victoria name till the 1960s, when it changed to the Showplace Theatre. It operated till the 1990's, then the building was demolished in the late 1990s, to the hole that you see there now. i remember going to this theater as a kid to see Superman, with Christopher Reeves! History is just priceless!
