Geocache Description:

**CACHE is NOT at the posted coordinates**

This little series of solar system related puzzles has been put together in honor of the weary yet brave voyagers in the Planetary Pursuit Challenge.

May you find them fun yet simple, and may the points add up quickly for you!

All of the hides are park and grab in nature since us astronauts do not have time to dilly dally around trekking through the woods and searching for bison tubes in pine trees.  After all, we have 9 planets to visit!

You will need your trusty space pen, but don't bother packing swag, there isn't room on board the shuttle!

Have fun and cache on, my friends!

Solve these "Who Am I?" clues for the planet names and translate them into their planetary position.

A- I am the densest planet in the Solar System but I am only the fifth largest planet with a diameter of 7,926 miles (12,756km). My magnetic poles flip about every 200,000 to 300,000 years.  Who am I?

B- As of 2006, my planetary status was stripped by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) but there are plenty of Earth people who chose not to give up on me.  At least in the Planetary Pursuit Challenge I still get to hang with the big guys!  Who am I?

C- I am the only planet less dense than water.  If there was a pool big enough to hold my 74,500 mile diameter, I could actually float!  Who am I?

D- With that pesky wannabe planet out of the way, I am officially the farthest planet from the sun.  I was the first planet located strictly by mathematics rather than observation from Earth. In fact, I am so far away from the Earth that it took the Voyager 2 twelve Earth years to get to me in 1989!  Who am I?

E- It takes me so long to move around the sun that since I was discovered in 1930, I still haven't made a complete orbit.  I also move on a different orbital plane than those other 8 planets and have such an elliptical orbit that sometimes I am actually closer than the big blue one.  Who am I?

F- The Hubble Space Telescope can't even look at me because I am so close to the sun that the brightness would harm the electronics. I am most visible to humans as a dark spot crossing between the sun and the Earth. Of course, this requires special filters to look at as well. Who am I?

G- My two moons, Phobos and Diemos, were discovered in 1877 by Asaph Hall. Phobos is gradually getting closer to me and it is believed one day it will collide with me.  Who am I?

H- In 2004, the Earth spacecraft Cassini-Huygens entered into orbit around me.  It took pictures, not only of me, but some great ones of some of my many moons.  So far, humans have identified over 60 moons orbiting around me in addition to my beautiful rings.  Who am I?

I- The Earthlings' spacecraft, Pioneer 10, flew past me in December 1973, but they didn't get clear photographs of me until the Voyager 1 came by in January 1979.  The Voyager 1 also discovered I have rings, putting me in good company with Saturn and Neptune.  Who am I?

J- I have the strongest winds of any planet in the Solar System.  They can reach over 1,200 mph and push my blue storm all the way around my surface every 16 hours!  No wonder I am often considered "the stormy planet".  Who am I?
