The Ugthorpe trail - Part 1
Ugthorpe Mill is a small tower mill, 22' diameter at the base and standing 24' tall, it is believed to have been built in the 1770s and the was thought to have been a timber Post Mill there before, a mill was mentioned in 1649 and there was mention of a miller but not a mill in 1245. (all information from 'Eight Centuries of Milling in North East Yorkshire' by John K Harrison, published by North York Moors National Park 2001 isbn 0 907480 87 X)
Please note the Mill is on private land, the cache is on the road side near the village sign with a view of the mill.
The cache contains a log and a few small swaps, please bring a pen.
