Aroud the mid 1800's a gnetleman named Craven with his partner a Mr McAulliffe from County Tyrone had a very large holding which covered most of the Rosewood/Glenroy area, together they held 20000 acres which was estimated to be capable of carrying 2000 sheep.eventually the partnership was terminated and Craven held most of the land surrounding Rosewood. The Parish of Craven and Craven Road commemorate his presence.
