Geocache Description:

The Detroit Grand Prix began first in 1905 in Grosse Point on a dirt oval, but that was the only year until 1928. In 1928 the race was run at the State Fair Grounds until 1957. The Grand Prix came back to the city in 1989. From 1989 through 1991 it was run in the streets of Detroit. In 1992 the race moved to Belle Isle and has been here since.

During the 1920s several drivers were killed driving cars with the number 13 on them. That was the start of the 13 superstition in auto racing. Grand Prix cars were not allowed to run the number 13 on their cars for more than 85 years. In 2014 the number was allowed to be run again but most still feel cars that run number 13 have more misfortunes than other numbers.

The Detroit only ran one year on the 13 day of the month of all the years run. June 13th 1993 was the only time and it was right here on Belle Isle. The puzzle below has to be solved before finding this small plastic peanut butter jar.

Who had the good luck on June 13th 1993 by winning this race?
1. AJ Foyt: N42° 20.173 W82° 59.913
2. Danny Sullivan: N42° 20.257 W82° 59.897
3. Michael Andretti: N42° 20.273 W82° 59.847
4. Paul Tracy: N42° 20.200 W82° 59.999
