#23 Sunshine Coast traffic signal box art trail
The unassertive traffic signal box is often overlooked as it sits at intersections and roadsides in metropolitan areas. Urban Smart Projects, a community art initiative, has made it their mission to bring colour and art to cities and help fight graffiti. (www.urbansmartprojects.com)
Follow this trail around the Sunshine Coast and admire the original designs reflecting the vibrancy, character and stories of the community. I have included a statement from each artist about their artwork. The geocaches on this trail should be fairly quick to find to prevent cachers being too conspicuous searching in these high muggle traffic zones.
You may also like to sing Monty Python’s song, “I like Traffic Lights” on your way to keep you in the mood. (www.montypython.net)
He likes traffic lights, He likes traffic lights.
Perfect Break – painted by Mieke Salna – June, 2017. There is nothing better to wake up with the sun just kissing the sky and the best waves presenting themselves to enjoy first thing in the morning.
The cache is at the listed co-ordinates not far from the signal box.
You are seeking a very small cache with a great view. Parking is available near the Alexandra Headland Surf Lifesaving Club if you’re lucky not to be there at peak hour (which is most of the day, every day of the week). Version #1 & 2 in a tree. Now moved away from the awesome tree hollow as it is obviously too often spied by muggles. Version #3 & 4 more under cover thanks to some low Norfolk Island pine branches. Now we are up to version #5, further along in plain sight hanging low still, but even tinier and very hard to spot from the path. You'll find a convenient seat just opposite, if that helps. Skate park nearby for those so inclined and plenty of places to grab a bit to eat. And, don’t forget your surfboard to try out the perfect break!
Congratulations to dickbev for FTF!!!
