Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Tower Of Hanoi

The Tower Of Hanoi, or Tower Of Brahma as it is also known, is a mathematical puzzle first invented in 1883 by French mathematician Edouard Lucas. Depending on how the story is told, legend tells of a temple or monastery in Vietnam, or sometimes India which contains three pillars holding 64 golden disks of varying size upon them. The priests, or monks who inhabit the temple must move each of the 64 disks from one pillar to another in accordance with an ancient prophecy. When the final disc of 64 have been successfully moved, and the puzzle is complete, the world will end! There is just one rule...no larger disc can be placed upon a smaller disc. If the legend were true, and one were to move each disk at a rate of one move per second, it would take approximately 585 billion years to complete.

To complete this wherigo, you will need to follow in the footsteps of the ancient tale, and move the discs on pillar 1 to pillar 3. How many discs will you need to move? Well...only time will tell. You have only two rules to follow.

1) You may only move one disc at a time.

2) No larger disc can be placed upon a smaller disc.

When the puzzle is complete, GZ will be revealed. This is one my favourite puzzles of all time, so I hope you enjoy it as well.
