Geocache Description:

Number 93 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

Despite its small size, Chinley has many shops and amenities including a post office, an Indian restaurant, a pharmacy, a grocer's shop, a butcher, cafes, and an old fashioned 'chippy'. The village is surrounded by the local hills, Chinley Churn/Cracken Edge, South Head and Eccles Pike which offer great local walks and attract many tourists in the summer months.

The phone box here is one of many across the country that has been re-purposed as a defibrillator station. It is also another resurrected fine pair, the original cache was placed by Meadowmary (in a different place). We never managed to look for this before it was archived, but as it's a lovely example of the series I thought it deserved another shot. I have resited this cache to a less scenic position than it was before (Aug 2020)due to summer growth making the cache inaccessible.

The cache is not hidden at the posted coordinates, which are for the post box. Please visit to get the following information to calculate the final location:

The post box has a number SK AB CD

The cache can be found at:                    N53 20.(D/A)(C+A)D

                                                            W001 56.D(D-C-B)D

The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum but is now managed by mattd2k

If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do. I would just ask that you first visit www.afinepair.co.uk to request a number to avoid any duplication

mattd2k also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series. Once your cache is published please contact him via geocachingafinepair@gmail.com to have yours added
