Como en todas las ciudades, el estallido de la burbuja inmobiliaria también ha dejado cicatrices en Ávila, y bastante acusadas. Decenas de solares sin construir entre anchas calles nuevas y descuidadas se extienden en los alrededores de la ciudad. En 2017 Ávila tenía alrededor de 58 000 habitantes; si todas estas urbanizaciones hubieran ido adelante, exceso de optimismo de constructores y políticos, estaríamos hablando seguramente de más de 100 000.
En el norte, más allá de las Hervencias, con hermosas vistas y cerca de los montes tras la autovía. En el este, bajo el cerro Hervero, la zona más alta de la ciudad y a merced de los fríos vientos. Y en el sur, junto al Soto, a capricho de las crecidas de las aguas en el valle de Amblés.
Es precisamente en el sur donde tenemos uno de los grandes símbolos de la expeculación y el exceso de optimismo inmobiliario en Ávila, un esqueleto que representa lo que querían que hubiese sido y lo que realmente es.
El caché
El caché se encuentra dentro del esqueleto de edificio. El acceso es libre, pero caminar por dentro entraña peligros: cascotes, agujeros, obstaculos a ras de suelo... Por ello, hay que tener mucho cuidado por donde se pisa, pues es fácil tropezar, y es aconsejable evitar días excesivamente ventosos, ya que no hay apenas paredes que protejan. Por supuesto, por todos los riesgos que conlleva, NO es recomendable para niños.
El caché se encuentra en las coordenadas publicadas, pero tendrás que subir escaleras y caminar por pasillos hasta llegar a él. El acceso se realiza por el lado sur del edificio; en los Waypoints están señalizados los accesos recomendables, los demás dan a habitáculos cerrados sin continuidad hacia el resto del edificio. En el interior puedes encontrar marcas de Geocaching que te llevarán hasta el escondite.

The cache is at the published coordinates, but you will have to climb stairs and walk down hallways until you reach it. Access is through the south side of the building; The recommended accesses are marked at the Waypoints, the others open into closed rooms without continuity towards the rest of the building.
