Geocache Description:


The Village of Kilburn is mentioned in the Domesday book as Chileburne. Not only famous for the Mouseman , the world renowned furniture craftsman, Featuring a carved mouse on every piece he made. This village is also famous for the Kilburn white horse, A chalk figure cut into the hillside in 1857 which is visible for many miles. The first chapel on this site was built in 1120,enlarged in 1170 and is rightly described as Norman . The pews in the Nave were made by Robert Thompson's craft's men in 1970/71. The church is full of furniture made by Mousey Thompson and there are lots of his signature carved mice to find

 

 

 

Take the public footpath through the chuchyard to the cache.
