All Saints Scottish Episcopal Church
At the end of the 19th Century, Milngavie & Bearsden were developing as suburbs to the north of Glasgow and many people were moving into the area. All Saints was founded in 1897 as a mission church – an offshoot of St George’s Church, Maryhill – and is a charge of the Scottish Episcopal Church. From the original proposal for the church to the completion of the building took a mere 10 months with the dedication of the church taking place on 14th October 1897. The building had been intended as a purely temporary structure to be later replaced with a stone built version hence why only a dedication rather than a consecration took place. However, here we are in 2018 and it's still going strong. The original "New Church Building Fund" was finally used in 1986 to extend the building and add a choir vestry. As it was apparent at this point that the building was no longer "temporary" Derek Rawcliffe, Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway was asked to formally consecrate All Saints on 2nd October 1988.
