The Pietermaai District is a vibrant area known for its brightly painted colonial houses. The area used to be run-down and vacant, but in recent years many of the old historic buildings have been restored. Today, the district is home to boutique hotels, companies, and a variety of restaurants and bars. You wouldn't expect to find a beach in this part of town, but… here it is!
The cache shouldn’t be too hard to find, plus, it’s a fun way to discover this colorful, historic, neighborhood. Make sure to bring sunscreen, a pen, and your phone to snap some jealous-making pictures along the way. The mural art that you will encounter offers great photo opportunities.
Don't worry about the beach being open from 10:00am onwards, the waypoint is accessible 24/7. The final location is also accessible 24/7 although I'd recommend to do this geocache during the day to not miss out on the vibrant colors of the buildings and the mural art you will encounter.
PS: When we first activated this geocache, the three numbers were hidden in a mural art. The mural art is now gone but the numbers can now be found in a sign instead.
