Beschreibung dieses Powertrails:

Dieser Powertrail führt dich vom Bahnhof Leuk über den „Schneckenweg“ zum Industriegebiet von Leuk-Susten und an der Kantonsstrasse entlang zurück zum Bahnhof Leuk.

Dein Cachermobil kannst du am Bahnhof Leuk (CHF 5/24h) parkieren. Oder du kommst ganz befreit mit dem ÖV nach Leuk-Susten.

„Schnäggu“ ist das Walliserdeutsche Wort für „Schnecke“ und seit eh und je hat die Leuker Bevölkerung den Übernamen: „Leigger Schnäggä“.

Die ganze Runde ist 6KM lang und dauert mit Suchen etwa 2 ½ bis 3 Stunden (je nach dem). Der „SchnägguTrail“ ist nicht Kinderwagen und Velotauglich. Aber sowohl im Sommer wie im Winter machbar. Der Weg führt über der Rhone an der Sonnenseite des Hanges entlang, was bedeutet dass es schön sonnig sein kann. Bei zu viel Schnee und Eis sind vielleicht nicht alle Caches auffindbar.

Unbedingt eine Pinzette mit im Gepäck tragen, ansonsten wird das Loggen einiger Caches eine knifflige Aufgabe.

Dieser Powertrail wurde mit der Gemeinde Leuk besprochen und eine Bewilligung liegt vor.

3 Generationen waren an der Entstehung dieses Powertrails involviert. Es sind unsere ersten selbst ausgelegten Caches. Falls eurer Meinung nach die Grösse oder das Terrain nicht angebracht ist, meldet euch ungeniert.

Nun genug geschrieben, viel Spass beim Suchen der Caches bei einem schönem Spaziergang über und an der Rhone!

Ein ganz spezieller Dank geht an koebilee und zermatt76, welche mir bei der Entstehung sehr behilflich waren.

Description of this powertrail:

This Powertrail starts at the train station of Leuk and takes you to the industrial district of Leuk-Susten via a path called “Schneckenweg”. From the industrial district you carry on through the “Treichgässi” and along the main road back to the train station of Leuk.

You can either park your cacher car at the train station Leuk (CHF5/24h) or arrive with the public transport.

“Schnäggu” ist our dialect word for Snail. Since ever the Leuker inhabitants have got the nickname: “Leigger Schnäggä”.

The whole circuit is 6 Km long and will take you more or less between 2 ½ and 3 hours, depends on how fast you find the caches. The “SchnägguTrail” is not doable by bike or with a pram. Throughout the year you can walk the “SchnägguTrail". The path goes along the sunny hill side. It can be very nice and sunny. If there is to much ice and snow maby not all caches can be found.

I reccomend you taking tweezers with you, otherwise logging some caches could become a mission impossible.

The local authority of Leuk has approved this powertrail.

3 Generations have worked on this project “SchnägguTrail”. These Caches are our first ones and please don’t hesitate to contact me if the size or terrain are not correct.

Vorsicht vor den vielen Muggels die sich hier während den Stosszeiten aufhalten.
Ohne Pinzette kann es hier schwierig werden.

This cirtuit starts at the train station of Leuk. A small descreet start...
Whatch out for all the muggles that walk around here during rush hour.
Could be quite a challange to log this one without tweezers.
