Hidden within the Menagerie.
The menagerie was built along with the house as a place to show of interesting and strange creatures. When you find this cache you will be stood within what would have been a cage / building. I like to wonder what could have been kept there, a lion? a bear? Probably just exotic birds, but it is nice to imagine.
The history of the area is quite interesting, to the west, down stream, at the end of the YSP grounds are old open face mines, from ages ago like maybe 1000 years ago. They probably provided some small bits of coal or iron to a priory further north in Yorkshire. Go explore for sure and if you find anything let me know.
