Geocache Description:

Fri fra skole

WP1 Start at N55 26.766 E008 24.153

School is out

WP1 Start at N55 26.766 E008 24.153

Schools Out : As usual school finished early and once again Magnus was grateful to the war for reducing the number of days and hours the school was open. He and his friends intended to walk past the community hall which was now filled with supplies for the German soldiers. They may get lucky and find something that had been dropped that they could take for their secret treasure trove.
As they were about to leave Magnus looked up at the school Bell and wondered if it was made of copper, as they had just learned about the periodic table in science class. (A)

As usual there was a lorry being unloaded and boxes being carried into the community center by young German soldiers. Magnus and his friends hung around for a few minutes but there was nothing new in watching the soldiers unloading a truck so they decided to go home to Magnus who lived above the bookshop.
Magnus reads the long name of the center (B, number of LETTERS) and thinks to himself that the locally known word Strien is much easier to use.

The boys went home to Magnus' house and ran up the stairs with their school bags. Looking east, out of the round window with the many smaller pieces of glass (C), they could see a German patrol walking down the main street.
Magnus’s mum called the boys to come downstairs to the bookshop, and asked them to take an advertisement to be printed in the newspaper to encourage islanders to buy blackout curtains which are available in the shop. She also asked Magnus to get his grandfather’s newspaper from the Fanø Ugeblad newspaper office and take it to him at the fire station where he worked.

The boys handed in the advertisement and picked up the paper at the Newspaper office as requested. They then went to see Magnus’s grandfather at the fire station.
As they left Magnus noticed the wooden sign with all the many letters engraved on this side. (D)

At the station the boys could see the fire truck was out of the shed and the station was empty. They decided to wait to see if Magnus could convince his grandfather to let them play in the fire truck when it returned. They had brought the newspaper after all.
To pass the time, the boys decided to go treasure hunting. They found something interesting at:
