Creek Clean Up
Saturday, April 28, 2018
9 am - 12 Noon
This is a CITO Souvenir Weekend!
We are working together with the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association to help clean up the Wissahickon Creek and its tributaries. We have been assigned the Penllyn Woods area. Click HERE for a map of the area where we will be cleaning.
All participants must fill out a waiver and email them to info@wvwa.org.
CLICK HERE to download the waiver.
Please let me know "I have emailed my waiver" when you log your Will Attend. I will have a few extra waivers at the event for last minute attendees, but won't have enough for everyone. Please take the time to email your waiver in advance. Thank you!!!
Keep in mind that this is a CREEK clean up. Wear boots! While you are not required to get into the water, we are asking that the creek banks be cleaned as part of this CITO. Expect it to be muddy. And if you want to get into the creek and chase down that elusive, floating piece of trash - Go For It!
There will be a log-in table at the posted coordinates. Please check in here by 9am for meet and greet, trail information, trackable discovery and trading and the opportunity to say HI to greenducks. WVWA will provide trash bags, gloves and vests which I will be distributing at this time. Feel free to bring your own gloves/vests if you so desire. We will then split off to various sections of the trail to divide and conquer. I've included parking coordinates as well as the trash drop off location.
If you'd like to participate, but aren't able to walk the trails, let me know. I'd like a volunteer or two to help man the log-in table during the event to meet late arrivals, coordinate trash drop off, etc.
