April 29th, 2018 12:30-3:30
Being that Earthday was April 22nd, Groundspeak is offering up a virtual CITO souvenir for cachers who attend a CITO event between April 21st and April 29th, so if you haven't been able to make one yet, this event is your last chance.
The coordinates posted are for the drive and the gate should be open, so drive on down and park. If you get there early to cache, please park at the far end so that the gate can be opened and everyone can easily pass by. We will be meeting around 12:30 and will finish up around 3:30. We will be doing general cleanup and possibly some trail work. Wingfield Pines, an Allegheny Landtrust property, was flooded recently, so the ALT is currently talking about what we could do to help them. Bring some tools and gloves if you have them and we will see what we can do. Might get to do some trail work and be prepared for WET conditions!! Boots are probably a good idea, although, if you don't come prepared for getting wet and muddy, we should still be able to find something for you to do.
Upper St Clair Citizens for Land Stewardship will also be there to help and have even issued us the ability to help with a cool challenge. More info will be given on site, so come on out and lend us your hands!
We will have water and some cool prizes. As usual, we will see who can find the strangest piece of trash as voted on by the attendees. In addition, just for showing up, you will get a chance at one of the random 'door' prizes. The more people who show up, the more people will win a prize.
There are several caches on the property, so come prepared to find them if you wish to. Can't wait to see everyone! Thanks in advance!! Please post your will attends so i can make sure to have enough water.
Update: There is a backchannel for water runoff that we may be rerouting. This will involve moving riprap and other rocks, some weed pulling, and maybe a bit of shoveling to get the water flowing. It’s probably going to be a muddy job. Please be prepared for MUD.
