I have already placed a cache with this name in Stratford (GC7EQBH) as that is where Bandit was living when he began his disc (frisbee) career. We then moved to St. Marys and lived here for the majority of his life, spending many, many hours each year playing disc in this field both for practice for competitions and just for fun (although I doubt he knew the difference lol - he just loved playing with his "fris"). While there are many great places around town to toss a disc, this was his favourite as it is so wide open so no limitations on how far the throws could be or pesky trees and whatnot to interfere when his handler was a little off :) He was an amazing disc dog, would catch pretty much anything and was really good at making up for my bad throws. He was most certainly a champion in all areas of life - his passion for everything life had to offer was inspirational.
This area is known locally as the "The Flats" and besides being a great place to throw a frisbee, also hosts many events and activities throughout the year. In the warmer seasons there are baseball leagues, fairs, festivals and even plant sales; in the winter there is the most incredible Christmas light display (seriously - check it out) and horse drawn carriage rides. Bandit and I would visit and enjoy these events as well, the carriage ride was particularly fun!
Although I didn't discover geocaching until after his death last year, I know he would have loved it. But he is with me in spirit on my new adventures and he welcomes you to discover his caches and enjoy the areas he did :)
Cache is a magnetic nano, BYOP.
Congrats to carnigrewal on the FTF!
