Cache In Peace “The Biggest cache of Miami”. Ironic that now you are searching for a “Nano” on a parking lot instead of one of the coolest cache’s containers ever to be hidden in Dade County
.
Here is how its story goes: Back on June 6th 2010 a crazy newbie cacher had a vision “to hide the biggest container ever seen on this county”, soon after around 7:00am I loaded the “small container” filled with lots of big items on to the geo truck, parked at the nearby CVS to gear up and hike this amazing forest which used to stretch from NW 107Ave until NW 97Ave, from West to East.
As I placed the container that you see on the photos on my back and I started to cross the street (107th Ave) at dawn a police officer was just passing by and how could he not stop a crazy person wearing BDU pants and combat boots with an extremely large container on his back, after a long and fun interrogation period from the officer which led to a detailed explanation of what geocaching was, he decided that I was harmless enough to allowed me to venture into the woods to hide such of container (I will never forget his face).
Since then this cache was found from over 41 cachers and each of their logs were a blast, I enjoyed their journeys as if they were my own, I had taken the liberty to add a few fun photos to this new hide from those good old days. Sad that now we have a new shopping plaza right at what it used to be this fun GZ, but that is progress I guess.
This should be an easy enough hide, about 47ft NW of GZ laid the actual container for the biggest cache of Miami, just as a fun reference note, but there was nothing there to hold a Nano cache thus this cache would not be as ironic as I wanted.
Have fun and good hunting, remember our planet will not last us forever…
