A simple multi, my first, and is of course in memory of my best buddy ever, Bandit. This park is just packed full of wonderful memories as we lived nearby for a few years and would visit or pass through here quite often. Bandit loved to chase the squirrels and climb trees in the wooded area, go for a swim in the river to cool off, practice his agility on the playground equipment, play frisbee in the open area in the summer and catch snowballs in the winter. And at the end of the day we would sit on the bench near the water and watch the amazing sunsets. For me it was soul food just being here with him, enjoying his enthusiasm and company.
Cache is NOT at the posted co-ordinates but it is hidden nearby! The posted co-ordinates will bring you to the official park entrance. To find the cache you will need to stroll through the park, gather some numbers and do a bit of math.
North coordinate: On the sign in front of the playground there is a phone number with an extension. Sum all the individual numbers then subtract the number of months that the playground is NOT maintained. Add this number to the posted North coordinate to get the North coordinate of the final location.
West coordinate: On the north side of the pavilion there is a bench facing the bridge with some small cedars and newly planted trees behind it. One of the trees has a dedication plaque to a gentlemen with the last name McClelland; find it and add the number of letters in his first name + 48 to the West co-ordinate to get the West coordinate of the final location.
The bench is also a very scenic, peaceful and convenient place to calculate the final co-ordinates :)
Checksum: N = 30 W = 31
Cache is a large bison tube, BYOP. Please take your time and enjoy the diversity of this lovely little park.
