Geocache Description:

Those of you who are local, watch the News, dabble in Social Media or follow the NBA may have heard of a certain Australian pro-basketballer they call Delly. Matthew Dellavedova was born and raised in Maryborough. Being a small town, the majority of us either went to school with or played Basketball with Matt, were taught by his teacher Mum Leanne (AKA Mrs Delly) or their kids did/are. As a result, we've all followed his successes; State basketball for Victoria, AIS, U/19 World Champs, Senior National team, College ball at St Marys and the 2012 London Olympics. In 2014 Delly played in the World Cup in Spain and was drafted to the NBA team Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers reached Play-Offs in June 2015 and you could say that Maryborough developed Delly-Fever which was continued a year later when Delly won an NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The local paper temporarily changed their colours to the Cleveland Maroon & Gold and the town was jokingly re-named Dellyborough temporarily.

The stadium I have brought you to- where Delly played his first ever games of Basketball has been permanently dedicated to the NBA star.
In June 2016, Dellavedova was acquired by the Milwaukee Bucks. Delly made his debut for the Bucks in their season opener on 26 October. In August of 2016 Delly again represented Australia internationally at the Rio Olympics. We're certainly proud of our country boy turned sporting superstar who has put our small town on the International map. I figured one more thing devoted to Delly wouldn't hurt...
The original location for this cache was compromised with the addition of 2 large skip bins hence the creation of Version #2. Unfortunately the size has had to be downgraded so there is room for log/pen only. The cache is an easy find but with the stadium, athletics complex, gymnastics centre and Skate park all within short proximity as well as vehicle & pedestrian traffic, you will need to use stealth.
