Geocache Description:


   After passing this area many times, I finally decided to check it out; now you have a reason to as well! The oldest map I could find was from 1990 and it showed this section of Powell Road was already abandoned and the road rerouted to it's current location, less than 200 ft to the SE. Why? Who knows? Based on the proximity of the pond to the east and the river to the west, I'm thinking perhaps there were recurring flooding issues with the old route.
Be prepared for mosquitoes during warm weather.
   The unique original container I picked up as swag a year ago from a very large cache in Kentucky, GC18103. It became too much of a temptation for someone in July of 2021 and was replaced with a temporary container (thank you, Another Lost Sister). A few days later I replaced it with the new permanent container and lowered the container size from regular to small.
